Also among those who definitely need to take vitamins are people who are on a diet, because their diet is more meager than those who eat any food. In this article, you will learn why children and other groups of people listed above need vitamins.

The importance of vitamins for athletes

In modern sports, physical activity has reached a level that is very difficult to overcome without the use of various stimulating and supportive drugs.

In other words, to achieve the cherished sports goal – an Olympic medal or an excellent physical form – one training process is not enough, since at each level of fitness there are limits to a person's physical performance. In order to expand these limits, non-pinging drugs are used. Among such drugs that are not prohibited for use in the practice of sports and used in it according to the requirements of the Medical Commission of the International Olympic Committee and the World Anti-Doping Agency, vitamins are also included. And this is far from accidental. Vitamins are needed by athletes, since increased physical activity also causes an increased need for the body of athletes in useful substances.

At the same time, it is obvious that the needs of a 55 kg runner, a 110 kg decathlete and a 130 kg thrower will be completely different, not to mention the impact of differences in training methods and nutrition.

And if the answer to the question of whether athletes need to take vitamins is unambiguous, then the question of the need for these substances undergoes significant changes depending on the calorie content of the daily diet and the ratio of its individual components. An increase in calories and the predominance of proteins in the structure of the daily diet increase the need for vitamins. An increase in carbohydrates increases the need for vitamin B1, and an increase in the proportion of vegetable proteins in the protein diet increases the need for vitamin PP.

Discussions about whether athletes need vitamins, about the importance of these compounds for maintaining the health of people who devote a lot of time to training, have not been conducted for a long time. The importance of vitamins for achieving high athletic performance is not in doubt. But the question of what vitamins, in what doses to use at various stages of preparation and for solving what sports problems, still remains unresolved.

Why give vitamins to children?

Those who need vitamins, of course, include young children: they absolutely need vitamins, and insufficient intake of such compounds can slow down the growth of the child and his mental development. In babies who do not receive vitamins in proper quantities, metabolism is disturbed, immunity is reduced. That is why manufacturers of baby food necessarily enrich their products (milk formulas, vegetable and fruit juices, purees, cereals) with all the necessary vitamins.

Today, at a pediatrician's appointment, parents very often ask questions about why children need vitamins, about the need for additional intake of vitamin complexes, about the effectiveness and safety of children using certain drugs, and also about which complexes should be preferred and why.

The first requirement when choosing one or another multivitamin complex for preventive courses in children is obvious – balance (that is, the presence of all the necessary vitamins in the composition).

The second requirement: the maximum approximation of the doses of vitamins contained in the multivitamin complex to the daily requirement.

The third important point that parents should definitely pay attention to is the release form. Young children need to be given vitamins in liquid form: syrups, which are the most optimal "children's form", are easy to use and dispense.

What vitamins are needed for older people?

Another group of people who need vitamins are the elderly. With age, changes occur in the human body that require a restructuring of nutrition. In older people, the ability to absorb food ingredients is reduced, energy metabolism is also reduced. In addition, chronic diseases, taking medications lead to the fact that a person regularly receives less of the substances he needs, primarily vitamins, minerals and trace elements. It has been proven that in 20-30% of older people the intake of, for example, vitamin B6 is lower than recommended. And the content of vitamins B and B12 in the blood is much lower than the norm in a significant number of elderly people. Vitamins are especially important for the elderly who are being treated in hospitals.

Vitamins are simply necessary to increase life expectancy. It has now been proven that regular intake of sufficient amounts of ascorbic acid can significantly delay the aging process.

For example, one of the greatest modern scientists, two-time Nobel laureate Linus Pauling has been taking daily high doses of vitamin C and other vitamins for many decades. Until the last days of his life, the great scientist (and he lived for 93 years) retained a clear mind, good physical shape, high efficiency, actively led the International Academy of Sciences, which included 118 Nobel Prize winners. Thus, there is no doubt about the benefits of the vitamin for the elderly.

What vitamins should pregnant women and vegetarians take?

Do pregnant women need vitamins and which ones? Expectant mothers experience an increased need for vitamins, especially vitamins A, C, B1; B6, folic acid. It is essential that a woman's body be provided with all these micronutrients even before the conception of a child and throughout the entire period of pregnancy and lactation. This will save the mother and her child from many troubles and complications.

Insufficient supply of vitamins to a woman during the period of conception and pregnancy can be the cause of congenital malformations, malnutrition, prematurity, disorders of the physical and mental development of children. That is why, when planning a pregnancy, you need to think about taking multivitamin complexes.

What vitamins do pregnant women need to stay healthy? It is known that vitamin E has a beneficial effect on a woman's ability to conceive and carry a pregnancy. With a deficiency of vitamin E in the diet of laboratory rats in the experiment in females, the fetus died during pregnancy.

Pregnant women should definitely take vitamin E, since its vitamin deficiency increases the likelihood of complications, such as late pregnancy toxicosis. Vitamin E also plays an invaluable role in the restoration and maintenance of reproductive function.

Vitamin B12 has been a stumbling block in the pros and cons of vegetarianism for decades. The fact is that this vitamin is not produced by plants at all and, accordingly, is not contained in any vegetarian product, only in meat. However, the cunning bacteria Lactobacillus leichmannii, which live in abundance in the human intestine, produce this vitamin. But opponents of vegetarianism argue that, firstly, it is not produced enough and, secondly, it is not suitable for humans. And while it is difficult to say in whose beliefs there is more truth.

Vitamins for children and adults with allergies

Allergies, allergic diseases, allergic diathesis, allergic reactions – more and more often we not only hear these words, but also encounter manifestations of allergies in real life. The urgency of the problem of allergies is increasing every day. Allergic diseases are in the first place in terms of prevalence among all non-communicable diseases. And the number of allergic patients has tripled in the last decade alone. Patients with allergic diseases are one of the risk groups for the development of hypovitaminosis.

The huge selection of multivitamin preparations available on the market today sometimes makes it difficult for a doctor to determine the drug that is optimal in terms of profile, efficacy and safety. At the same time, the selection of a drug for a patient with allergic pathology, not only in terms of efficiency, but also in terms of safety, significantly improves the quality of the therapy.

Doctors note that allergic manifestations are quite common when using multivitamin complexes. With the use of vitamins by allergic people, the appearance of pseudo-allergic reactions with a high local concentration of organic compounds is not excluded. The occurrence of allergic reactions is also possible in response to the use of vitamin complexes by children and allergic adults with reactogenic microelements (especially with copper and iron), metal salts, dyes, food sweeteners, flavorings, which, as is known, can lead to the formation of candidates for the role of allergens. That is why the choice of effective and at the same time safe vitamins for adults and children with allergies is a very important task.

What vitamins are needed against depression and fatigue?

All of us, to one degree or another, have ever been under the influence of adverse physical or emotional factors, in other words, experienced stress, which is often a trigger in the development of depression.

When typical symptoms such as depressed mood, guilt, feelings of helplessness, inability to concentrate or make decisions, loss of interest in work, loss of appetite, headaches, sleep disturbance and decreased sex drive, etc., are in conflict with your usual opportunities and desires and last long enough, then you need qualified help and treatment. Some people experience depression in the winter when there is little sunlight. To alleviate this seasonal type of depression, you need to spend more time outside during daylight hours, especially on sunny days. Also, against depression, it is recommended to take vitamins that will help you quickly get out of this state.

What vitamins are most effective for depression? So, taking vitamin B6, or pyridoxine, which is involved in the production of serotonin, i.e. a substance found in the brain that improves mood. Often depression occurs in people who are deficient in folic acid. Deficiency of thiamine and riboflavin can also contribute to the formation of depressive syndromes. So you need to take multivitamins.

But from depression and fatigue, vitamins with minerals are not always indicated. So, for example, too high levels of magnesium (which is often included in vitamin-mineral complexes) can increase depression. If your magnesium levels are high, you should stop taking drugs or foods with a high content of it!

What vitamins are required during the diet?

Every woman dreams of being slim. If extra pounds are still present, then the fair sex most often tend to go on a diet. After all, this method is rightfully considered one of the most effective in the fight against excess weight. Modern dietology provides a very diverse choice of methods: both already past the test of time, such as vegetarianism, a raw food diet or the Atkins diet, and newfangled mono-diets, and rather unusual ways to lose weight, for example, the golden needle diet using weight loss earrings.

But in pursuit of the ideal weight, women often forget about the side effects, which, unfortunately, are almost inevitable with malnutrition. Often, along with a thin waist, you can get pale, tired skin, weak nails, dull and brittle hair. Therefore, it is extremely necessary to include a balanced complex of vitamins in your daily diet, then during the diet the body will be able to withstand the load, bypassing the negative consequences of hypovitaminosis.

Of particular danger in terms of the development of vitamin deficiency are the so-called mono-diets. They increase the risk of developing hypovitaminosis at times, since all foods are excluded from eating, except for one or two. Among such diets are kefir, watermelon, buckwheat, banana, rice. All of them should be as short as possible. Reception of multivitamin complexes will help to fill the lack of nutrients that have ceased to come from food.

What are the most beneficial vitamins in a diet? If such food products as cereals, bread, cereals are excluded from consumption, then the body ceases to receive vitamins B1, B6, E in the right amount. If the diet excludes or imposes restrictions on dairy products, then calcium deficiency appears in the body, there is not enough vitamin B2, B3, B5, B12, A, E. Bones become brittle, which is fraught with serious consequences. Widespread vegetable or low-calorie diets minimize the intake of animal fats. Without animal fats, vitamins A, E and D begin to be poorly absorbed by the body. Thus, there is a need to make up for the lack of nutrients during the diet by taking artificial vitamins.

Given the fact that diets are now more common than ever before, pharmacists have developed special vitamins for people who limit their diet. During the diet, the complexes of essential vitamins and minerals provide the human body with all the useful substances that are so lacking during this period.

[553

post-590707","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-health
["GET
