The young man began to sell his talented sketches to the fashion houses of Paris, as well as breathe life into images on the pages of Le Figaro magazine. As a result, his talent was noticed by Marcel Boussac, who at that time was a well-known textile magnate. It was Boussac who poured his finances into Christian Dior's personal fashion house. In 1946, a building was bought on Montaigne Street and a workshop was organized.<\/p>\n
Experts believe that the first collection of Christian Dior, released in 1947, became the most famous in the history of fashion. This collection amazed everyone with amazing quality fabrics, which were added to all models with excess. After the war, it was something unimaginable, because the collection was distinguished by amazing silhouettes with puffy skirts and wasp waists. The collection instantly became famous and made a splash all over the world.<\/p>\n
Throughout the ensuing decade, Dior continued to dictate new fashion trends and strike incredibly forward-thinking deals. Already in 1957, he again surprised the world, only this time in his own way, he suddenly died of a heart attack. Christian was only 52 years old.<\/p>\n
But the matter did not disappear and did not sink into oblivion, now this duty to "surprise" was assigned to Dior's 21-year-old assistant. Someone made fun of the young man, but over time, his name became no less famous – Yves Saint Laurent. He was probably the only person who could continue the work of the master. The first independent collection of Yves Saint Laurent caused in the fashion world almost the same explosion of emotions as the collection of his teacher that remained in the distant past. A few years later he left the House of Dior.<\/p>\n
Experts say that the reason was a somewhat unsuccessful collection, which received a flurry of negative reviews. After the departure of Saint Laurent, designers Marc Boen took over the reins, and after him, Gianfranco Ferre. In 1985, the brand was merged with the LVMH corporation by Bernard Arnault. In 1996, John Galliano came to the position of creative director of the fashion house. It was this person who was able to continue the good traditions of the House.
