A set of exercises for the eyes and restore vision when working on a computer: massage and exercise
How to reduce the potential danger if the work involves a long study of materials on a computer monitor? This material tells about how vision restoration can be carried out at home. But it is worth remembering that the recommendations should be followed daily and on an ongoing basis.
For the time being, such a short computer age has already affected human health, primarily by visual impairments among users of this miracle technology, which is extremely necessary in the conditions of technological progress.
Unfortunately, long-term work associated with eye strain almost always has a negative effect on the state of the eye apparatus. And first of all causes a spasm of accommodation.
On average, after 45 minutes of continuous observation of a glowing computer screen, computer eye fatigue begins to develop.
And after 2-2.5 hours, the very vision of the person sitting near the screen decreases sharply, since the special muscle that regulates the curvature of the lens of the eye gets tired and ceases to properly adjust the shape of the lens to obtain the necessary clear image on the retina. The accommodative muscle relaxes, and its owner can no longer adjust the visual acuity he needs by any volitional effort.
That is why the victims of computer fatigue are, first of all, people who are already suffering from a spasm of accommodation – it is the most difficult for them. They begin to suffer from headaches, their performance decreases, they become irritable – thus, many computer users fall into the clutches of a special computer stress.
To prevent this from happening, you must follow some important rules:
1 Provide adequate lighting for your work area.
2 Be aware of the need for proper posture and posture when working close to the computer.
3 Be aware that the workspace in which your computer is located must be at least 10 m2 in area and be constantly ventilated.
4 At night in the room it is necessary to create bluish lighting with a brightness equal to approximately the brightness of the display, and the light source should not be reflected in it.
5 Every 30-40 minutes, lightly warm up, or at least just stretch in your work chair.
A set of exercise exercises for the eyes to restore and improve vision
The exercises for restoring vision, which are presented on this page, must be performed daily after some time of working at the computer. Many mental workers (and not only them) are well aware of such an unpleasant phenomenon when, as a result of long or simply difficult, and even more nervous work associated with overstrain of vision (primarily during constant work with a computer), ” flies", multi-colored spots, a veil or “fog”, and all this happens against the background of a decrease in vision and is usually accompanied by increasing fatigue. Charging to restore vision improves the blood supply to the retina and relaxes the muscles.
For those who, for one reason or another, cannot tear themselves away from the computer screen, it is recommended to resort to the help of a special relaxation (relaxing) exercise for the eyes to restore vision:
1 Starting a set of exercises to restore vision, sit in a relaxed position. Close your eyes without squinting. Rotate the eyeballs in a circle – left, down, up, right, down – 8 times in one direction, 8 times in the other.
2 Draw the Latin letter v with your eyes, moving the eyeballs up left, down, up right and down again, do this exercise also 8 times.
3 Exercises for the eyes will help to improve vision with a simple technique – with three fingers lightly, without pressing, massage the eyeballs (with your eyes closed) for 10-15 seconds until a feeling of warmth appears.
4 Look straight ahead, blinking rapidly, for 30 seconds. Then you need to look in front of you as much without blinking. This exercise is repeated 3-4 times.
5 When finishing eye exercises to improve vision, close your eyes tightly, and then, opening your eyes, blink quickly 10-15 times.
These simple exercises should be performed at least 1-2 times a day.
A set of exercises and gymnastics for the eyes (with video)
Try to relieve, remove the accumulated general tension with the help of gymnastics for the eyes, exercises for relaxing the whole body. And here's how you can do it using a simple set of eye exercises:
1 Take a short break. Tune in to put your emotions and problems aside for a few minutes.
2 Sit as comfortably as possible. Feet on the floor. The hands lie freely on the knees. In this case, the thumb and forefinger can touch. Wherever you sit, try to keep your back straight, following the physiological curves of the spine.
3 Drop any assumptions, judgments, fantasies and expectations of what will happen to you during and after this short relaxation session.
4 Close your eyes, first remove your glasses if you wear them, relax the muscles of your face and jaws (model: pronouncing the sound “y”).
5 Release the "clamps" from the muscles of the body, especially from the muscles of the neck and shoulder girdle.
6 Adjust your breathing – it should be light, silent and always even.
Usually, 5-7 minutes of such stress relief is enough for the eyes to return to normal. If vision has not recovered sufficiently, then one more trick can be applied:
7 Hold your breath and close your eyes tightly. Hold on like this for 10-15 seconds. Then mentally relax the muscles around your eyes and open your eyes. By repeating this exercise three times, you will surely feel the desired effect – your body will relax and your eyesight will improve.
Next, you can watch the exercises for the eyes in the video, which demonstrates the order in which they are performed:
How to do eye massage to improve and restore vision?
If this effect seems insufficient to you, then you can, remaining in the same relaxed position or changing your position to a prone position (if possible), apply a towel moistened with cold water to your eyes. And then, removing the towel, hold a 5-6-minute special eye massage to improve vision.
Here are its basic rules:
To relax the eye muscles, press 5-6 times with your index fingers on the symmetrical points located at the inner corners of the eyes, at the beginning and at the middle of the eyebrows. Then with your thumbs and forefingers, while massaging the eyes to restore vision, press on the symmetrical points located at the end of the eyebrows. And then – on symmetrical points at the outer corners of the eyes and under the eyes. When pressing on the points under the eyes and on the eyebrows, it is best to simultaneously rotate the pads of the index and middle fingers from 30 seconds to 1 minute.
Usually, to relax the eye muscles, to relieve tension from the eyes, it is enough to massage the points described above 2-3 times. But before doing an eye massage, it is necessary to relax the whole body and relieve excess nervous strain.
If massage does not help to get rid of tension, it means that the cortical sections of the visual analyzer are tired in the first place. And then, to influence the visual zones of the cerebral cortex, one should put the tips of the index, middle and ring fingers on the occipital protrusion so that the fingers touch.
So, the fingertips are on the visual zone of the back of the head. By pressing on it with three fingers at once on both sides 5-6 times with soft tonic movements, you will achieve the desired result!
Exercises to restore eye muscles and eyes
Exercises for the muscles of the eyes help restore the tone of the lens and improve visual acuity. If you feel that during emotional stress or after some kind of conflict with management, with clients, with work colleagues, with household members, your vision begins to fall, then you can improve it in the following ways:
1 Exercises for the eye muscles: turn the eyeballs up, down, left, right 30-40 times in a row 1-2 times a day, daily.
2 Exercise to restore the eyes: go to the washroom to rinse your face with cool or, even better, cold water. At the same time, gently hit the eyes with water from a handful 40 times. This procedure will relieve the effects of stress and increase blood circulation.
To get out of such situations, it is good to master the techniques of mental self-regulation.
It is recommended to adopt special exercises to strengthen the eye muscles.
1 Sit on a chair or armchair and relax, releasing the "clips" from the muscles. Look left and up, then right and down. Describe the circle in the opposite direction. Repeat this exercise 3-4 times.
2 Look up, then in front of you and down. Repeat these steps with open and closed eyes 5-6 times.
3 Look ahead, blink quickly and count to 30. Then, without blinking, continue counting to 60. Repeat the exercise 3-4 times.
4 Close your eyes tightly. Then blink rapidly 10-12 times. Repeat the exercise 3-4 times.
5 Close your eyes for 1-1.5 minutes and try to see in your mind's eye some pictures that are pleasant for you (this could be a warm beach, the edge of a forest, a sunny meadow, etc.).
Do not be lazy to perform a preventive set of exercises at least 2-3 times a week. After all, these simple actions will prepare you for communication with a computer, for eye strain, which, alas, is inevitable.
