Childhood and youth

Daria Shikhanova was born in November 1999 in the city of Saratov. And her fans were always sure that the new nickname (after Mental Affection) was chosen by her as “dora” out of love for the heroine of the cute cartoon series. “But no!” – this is what the singer herself says, and explains: “In my childhood, my mother sometimes called me not Dasha, but Dora – probably due to the fact that the cartoon often turned on with us, and this name was well known to my mother. So I decided to take for myself the name that my mother gave me in the second version.

Creation

Initially, Dasha sang to the guitar given by her parents and recorded other people’s songs, since she could not write her own music. She posted her work on social media. It is worth recognizing that at that time the music was not very good. In addition, at one point the guitar broke down.

These failures almost forced the girl to quit music, but one of her comrades advised her not to get upset and try to announce a collection among friends for a new instrument. Friends agreed to help the girl, the collected money was enough to buy a guitar. Daria admits that she still remembers this broad act with warmth.

The girl continues to make music, her first fans begin to appear. At one point, singer Yegor Barkhanov became interested in her work, offering to record a couple of joint tracks. Daria agrees, and as a result, she writes down a whole joint album called "I’ll Run Away", which gave a tangible boost to her career.

The girl calls her musical style "cute-rock", the sound of which is unlike anything else. Over the past 2019, the singer continues to release tracks, the number of auditions and subscribers is constantly growing.

Thanks to cooperation with an already promoted artist, all of Russia learned about Daria. True, soon the singer Dora took up a solo career. The girl created her own unique style.
