Evening hairstyles with braids for medium and long hair (with photo, video)
The eve of a gala event is a great opportunity to experiment with styling.
Evening braided hairstyles are more popular than ever, they look intricate and original, and are quite simple to perform.
Pay attention to the condition of your hair – the hair should be clean with no signs of skin irritation or dandruff, otherwise the whole charm of openwork weaves will be crossed out.
Hairstyle options with long braids
It couldn't be easier – we add an ordinary spikelet to the beam, and the hairstyle is immediately transformed!
In the photo – options for evening hairstyles based on braids for long hair, they look quite diverse, but are performed according to a single algorithm:
- Separate a bang or a strand of hair over the forehead with a parting from temple to temple
- Gather the strand with a clip from the side of the face so that it does not interfere
- Start weaving a braid-spikelet from the left temple to the right, gradually picking up and adding strands to the braid on the right side
- Strands on the left side (that is, from the side of the crown) simply transfer to the middle strand, as when weaving a regular spikelet
- From the right ear, continue to weave the braid, no longer adding additional strands to it (the length of the weave should eventually reach the back of the head)
- Gather all your hair into a ponytail at the back of your head, grabbing a braid
- Put the tail in a careless bun, pinned with hairpins
- Release the strand above the forehead, lay it on the right side and take it back at the level of the chin
- Pin the front strand to the bundle with an invisible or hairpin, hide the end of the strand under the bundle
What are the possible options for an evening hairstyle with a side oblique for medium hair with a length just below the shoulders?
- You can curl your hair in curlers in advance, and then simply pin up a couple of the upper curls of the tail to cover the elastic – the bundle will form itself.
- Long hair can be divided into several strands, twisted into bundles and wrapped in spirals, pinned up with hairpins.
- From short hair, a beautiful neat bun will turn out if you use a foam rubber “donut" or a heag hairpin.
- You can mirror the hairstyle by dividing the hair on the crown with a straight parting and braiding two braids.
- Gather the ends of the braids together with the bulk of the hair into a ponytail at the back of the head and make a bun.
- You can slightly change the algorithm and make the beam not at the back of the head, but at the top.
- Then braid the braid to the ends of the hair and lift it to the crown.
A sufficiently long braid can wrap an already formed bundle, in which case the bundle should be made neat and smooth.
French braid: evening hairstyle
A voluminous braid laid in a spiral in the form of a flower bud looks very beautiful and romantic.
On the video – an evening hairstyle with a French braid, which you can do only with outside help:
The French voluminous braid is woven like an ordinary spikelet, but the side strands are placed not on top of the central one, but under it.
- You should not tighten the weaving tightly – at the end you will need to pull the side loops to the sides, forming the so-called openwork petals.
- To set the direction of the weave and fix it on the head, start weaving a braid of three thin strands and gradually add loose hair.
- Your task is to style the braid in the shape of an S. Start at the forehead on the right side, lay the braid along the hairline above the forehead to the left, then gently bend and point to the right ear, then weave along the back of the head.
- At this stage, all hair should already be involved in weaving.
- Now continue braiding to the ends of the hair, pull up the side loops and secure the weave with a thin elastic band.
- Start twisting the braid in a spiral, laying turn after turn and forming a flower bud.
- Make an outer circle first, and then move towards the center. In different places, fix the braid with hairpins.
- Attach the end of the braid with a clip with a decorative flower.
Romantic hairstyle with braids
This styling looks as romantic as possible, suitable for any holiday, goes well with evening and cocktail dresses. Keep in mind that you will not be able to comb the bouffant – after the event you will have to wash your head with a mild shampoo using a rinse aid:
- Divide the hair at the crown with a straight parting
- Braid two reverse spikelets, starting from the parting and moving towards the back of the head
- Gradually add loose hair of the parietal and temporal zones to the braids, do not touch the crown area
- Weave braids from the ears without adding additional strands
- Pull out the side loops of the braids to make the latter more voluminous.
- Comb the crown area using a fine-toothed comb.
- Comb hair at the roots strand by strand, varnish each strand after combing
- Do not comb the topmost strand – you will cover the bouffant area with it so that the styling looks neat
- Gather all the hair at the back of your head into a ponytail, being careful not to damage the bouffant.
- Twist the tail into a bundle and lay it in a bun, securing with hairpins
- Wrap the right braid around the bundle clockwise, and the left braid counterclockwise
- Hide the ends of the braids under the bun and secure with hairpins.
If you have thick curly hair, you can do without bouffant – the crown area will still look spectacular in combination with a large bun at the back of the head.
Braids and weaves, laid in an intricate hairdressing composition, will give you a luxurious look with a minimum of effort.
Even short curls can be supplemented with braids on the crown of the head, and curl the crown and nape area with large curls.
By mastering the technique of the reverse French braid, you can create unique styling and impress guests time after time.
