There are several elementary rules for styling hair with a hairdryer, remembering which, you can proceed to the practical part. These blow-dry hair styling methods are applicable in all cases and for all types of hair.
1 Hold the hair dryer at a distance of 15-20 cm from the head. If you bring the tool closer, you can burn your scalp and damage your hair.
2 Always direct the air stream from the roots to the tips, i.e., along the scales that make up the top layer of the hair. Thus, the air flow will smooth the scales. If you direct the jet in the opposite direction, from the tips to the roots, the scales will bristle and the hair will lose its shine.
3 Before you do hair styling with a hair dryer, select the optimal temperature. When choosing the temperature of the air jet, consider the condition of the hair. Healthy, strong hair will not be damaged by hot air. But thin, weakened, damaged hair does not tolerate high temperatures, so they can only be styled with a cool jet.
4 The styling principle is as follows: the hair at the roots rises almost perpendicular to the head and the hairstyle becomes lush. Therefore, if it is necessary for some part of the hairstyle to turn out to be less voluminous, the strands in this zone are pressed against the head with a thin comb with short teeth, and the air stream is directed tangentially.
5 Do not rush to conclude about the quality of the installation. First make sure your hair is completely dry. The hot air of the hair dryer heats up the hair, so it may seem that they are already dry, although in fact they are not. Wait a few minutes for the hair to cool, and then gently feel it with your fingers. Check the roots carefully. If you leave them even slightly damp, the styling will fall apart the next day.

How to blow dry hair waves
You will need a hair dryer and a comb.
1 Apply a styling product to a strand of hair. You can use cologne on an artificial strand: it dries quickly enough, which means you will save time. In the process of applying the product, comb the strand so that the hair is moistened evenly.
2 Take a comb in your left hand, and a hair dryer in your right. Move the comb and hair dryer away from you to form waves. To do this, step back from the base of the hair 3-4 cm and insert the teeth of the comb into them. Hold the tool so that the teeth are at a 90° angle to the strand. Without changing the position of the comb, move it to the right by 1-1.5 cm. As a result, the hair will be directed to the right, due to which the first wave line, or crown, is formed.
3 Turn the comb with the teeth towards you. The wave line should be on the teeth. At the same time, move the comb 0.5-1 cm towards you.
4 Direct the hot air jet to the left and dry the formed wave line. Repeat this procedure several times to make the wave look more natural.
5 Step back from the first crown 3-4 cm and similarly form the second line. The directions of movement should be opposite: move the comb to the left and turn it away from you, and direct the air jet of the hair dryer to the right.
Hair styling technique with a hair dryer

1 Wash, dry and comb your hair.
2 Apply a decoction of flaxseed or other cold styling product to your hair.
3 Comb your hair in the direction you want for your future hairstyle.
4 Put a net on your head and dry your hair a little under dryer. Please note that the hair should remain slightly damp.
5 Start styling from the parietal zone. If the hairstyle is parted, then start from it. If the hairstyle is without parting, then move from the hairline on the forehead.
6 Suppose you need to make a hairstyle with a parting on the left side.
To do this, take a hair dryer in your left hand, and in your right comb:
- turn the comb with the bristles down and guide it with the left side into the hair from the parting;
- when all the bristles are in the hair, lift the brush. Her hair will rise along with it. At the same time, turn the brush slightly so that its right side comes out of the hair, and the left side remains in them;
- slightly move the brush to the parting and at the same time along it to the left or right. If everything is done correctly, the front edge of the hair from the parting will rise, and a wave line will form in its upper part;
- direct a jet of hot air from the hair dryer from the parting side under the brush. Make sure that the air does not burn the scalp. To dry hair evenly, move the hair dryer along the parting in the opposite direction of the brush movement to create a wave line;
- when the hair dryer runs along the entire brush, remove it from the hair and repeat steps 2-4. Repeat them until you achieve the desired shape of the hairstyle at the parting;
- proceed to styling the frontal part of the hair.
The further principle is this: move from the parting to the hair located farther and farther from it. The hair of each section must be captured with a brush and dried with a hairdryer several times. With a brush, give the hair the desired direction.
Process all the hair, combing it in the right direction.
7 After blow-drying all of your hair, apply a little fixative or grease to your palms and lightly lubricate your hair.
8 Put a net over your hair and dry it with a hair dryer.
9 Comb your hair with a fine-toothed comb and spray with hairspray.
When performing air styling, you can direct the hot jet not only in the direction of the hair from the parting, but also in the opposite direction, to the parting. In this case, the ends of the hair are turned down with a comb and held in that position.
