How to apply foundation correctly?

It is very important that the foundation that you are going to apply to your skin is ideally suited to you – both in terms of shade and skin type. If you do not have oily skin, it is better not to use completely matte foundation, otherwise they will dry the skin and emphasize any existing wrinkles and peeling. And vice versa, if you have oily skin, then you should still refuse luminizer products, such a tone will not last long on your skin.

Hue is another important factor. It is important to choose a shade of foundation exactly tone-on-tone to your skin, otherwise, both too light tone and too dark will age, create the effect of a tired face. Be sure to test the cream in the store on your neck: this test will give the most accurate result.

Do not apply foundation in several layers: this will not cover all the imperfections, and will create the effect of a puff cake on the face. You can then correct all the shortcomings locally with the help of a concealer or corrector. And apply foundation in one thin layer, ideally with a sponge. But cleansing is necessary, it will not only level the risk of inflammation, but also provide a more even and simple application of the tone.
2. Moisturizing your skin is an important step. To give your skin extra care and prepare it for the application of foundation, apply a light moisturizer, serum or oil to the skin before makeup, depending on your skin type. You can use thermal water. This, again, will help smooth out existing peeling, prepare the skin for further application of cosmetics. Moisturizing hydrogel patches can be put on the area around the eyes for 10-15 minutes, this will refresh both the skin and the look.

After you have done all the necessary care and applied the primer, proceed to applying the tone. First, pour the right amount of foundation onto the back of your hand. The foundation will warm up slightly from body heat and become more pliable. Then begin to apply the tone on the face with small strokes with your fingers. Further, additional tools are used: a foundation sponge, or a duo-fiber brush. Of course, there are also exotic tools like a silicone drop sponge, but we are still talking about more traditional options.

If you use a sponge, the movements should be, as it were, “wetting". If the brush is duo-fiber, then “driving in.” It is very important to try to distribute the product evenly so that there are no empty spaces without a tone. What tools are needed for the correct and even application of foundation?

1. Makeup sponge. Even a beginner can handle applying foundation with a sponge, the risk of making a mistake is minimal, all possible flaws are corrected just instantly. The result is a perfectly smooth finish. It is best to choose a sponge in the form of a drop. Be sure to wet it before use and wring it out. Makeup sponges provide light, natural coverage.
2. Duofiber brush. This is a brush consisting of double pile, both natural and artificial. It allows you to achieve a denser application than what the sponge provides.
