Types, methods and options for weaving braids and braids: double and French braids
This material discusses the main ways of weaving braids that can be used at home on their own. Popular braid options are French and double braids, as well as pigtails.
Plain braid
On the basis of a regular braid, many types of everyday and even festive hairstyles are built. It is most convenient to do it on long hair. It is easy to learn how to braid a braid correctly.
1 Dry or slightly damp hair is combed and combed to the back of the head.
2 Hair is divided into three approximately equal strands: right, middle and left.
3 The right strand is taken with the right hand, and the middle one with the left. Then the hands are positioned so that the right strand lies on the middle one. Now on the right side is the former middle strand.
4 The already braided strands are held with the right hand, and the left strand is taken with the left.
5 The left strand is placed above the middle one. The former middle strand is now on the left side, it is held with the left hand.
6 Again, place the right strand over the middle, and then the left over the middle. In this way, braid the hair to the desired length.
7 The braided braid is fixed with an elastic band, ribbon or hairpin.
Braiding methods
There are various ways to braid, but the easiest option is to divide the hair into two bunches of the same thickness.
1 The hair is combed and combed back, divided into two approximately equal parts with a vertical parting in the center of the head.
2 The hair of one part of the head is braided into a regular braid, and the hair of the other part is thrown over the shoulder.
3 Having finished weaving on one side and securing the braid with a hairpin, elastic band or ribbon, remove the clip from the hair on the other side of the head and braid the braid in the same way.
Weaving a double braid: how to weave
Weaving a double braid looks very elegant and is suitable for both girls and young women. The following is a detailed instruction on how to weave a double braid at home:
1 Dry or slightly damp hair is combed in the direction of its natural growth and combed to the back of the head.
2 The hair is divided into two parts (upper and lower) by a horizontal parting along the line of the ears so that the upper part is smaller than the lower.
3 Weaving begins with the hair of the upper part of the head. The hair is divided into three approximately equal strands, which are successively interlaced to the desired length in the same way as a regular braid.
4 At the end of weaving, the braid is fixed with an elastic band.
5 Comb the hair of the lower part of the head in a downward direction and divide it into two equal parts, which will be the outer strands when the hair is subsequently braided, and the newly braided braid will be the middle strand.
6 Of these three strands, braid the braid in the same way as a regular one, and fix it with a hairpin, elastic band or bow.
Shortened braid – weaving braids in different ways
Overlapping involves a hairstyle – a shortened braid. Weaving braids in various ways allows you to diversify your everyday look, and for this you can use a similar technique.
In the presence of long hair, the braid can be made shorter by overlapping the hair before braiding.
1 Gather the hair into a ponytail at the base of the neck and secure it with an elastic band.
2 Hold it with the left hand, two fingers of the right hand are inserted into the hair from below above the elastic band and grab the tail. With the left hand, they help to push the tail inside the hair and pull it out under its own base.
3 When the overlap is completed, braid the hair in a classic way.
French braid options
In order for the braid not to fall apart and be strong, the strands are held tightly, but do not tighten too much so as not to damage the hair structure. Next, options for a French braid with straight and reverse weaving strands are offered.
Execution technique. The usual way.
1 Dry or slightly damp hair is combed in the direction of growth and combed to the back of the head.
2 Divide the hair into strands and start weaving.
3 The strand that is on the left side is placed on top of the middle one so that it becomes the middle one, then the right strand is placed on it, forming the base of the braid.
4 The left strand is lifted, another small strand is attached to it and placed above the middle one. The right strand is also braided in the same way.
5 Thus, the braid is braided to the bottom of the back of the head, and then weaving is continued in the traditional way.
Execution technique. Reverse way.
1 Dry or slightly damp hair is combed in the direction of growth and combed to the back of the head.
2 Divide the hair into strands and start weaving. In this case, the strands are placed not on the central strand, as in the previous method, but under it.
