Washing your hair: how to wash your hair with water and shampoo, the rules for washing your hair
Do you know how to wash your hair so as not to harm the hair follicles and keep the curls healthy? Proper hair washing is a simple procedure, but you need to treat it thoroughly.
How to wash your hair, and what products are best used for this, you can read on this page.
Ask yourself: are you washing your hair properly? Are you ready to say yes? Take your time. Have you ever washed your hair with hot water? Or forcefully rub the shampoo into your hair? Or wash your hair without first removing the rest of the styling product from your hair? If you answered yes to at least one question, then you will have to learn how to properly care for your hair.
My hair: basic rules
So, my hair: where to start this procedure? First, read the basic rules for washing your hair, and then put them into practice.
Shampooing begins with the usual combing. It is it that helps to clean off the remnants of varnish or gel from the hair, remove keratinized scales. As a result, the hair becomes more receptive to washing, which in many ways ensures their impeccable cleanliness.
And now we proceed to the actual washing of hair with water: by the way, what kind of water do you wash your hair with? If hot, then you are making a big mistake. If you have oily hair, remember that hot water provokes an increased work of the sebaceous glands. It turns out that the hotter the water, the fatter your hair will eventually become. In relation to dry hair, hot water acts in the opposite way: hair washed with hot water becomes even more dry and loses its shine. As for normal hair, as a result of repeated exposure to hot water, it can gradually change towards oily or dry hair, depending on what you initially have a predisposition for.
In short, say no to hot water. Wash your hair with water, the temperature of which is approximately 50 ° C, this is the optimal temperature for dissolving sebum and removing dirt, while not harming the condition of the hair and scalp.
One more important note. It is best to wash your hair with the so-called soft water – as a result of such washing, the hair will become especially shiny and obedient. Unfortunately, the water that flows from the tap in our bathroom is not particularly soft. What to do? The solution is simple: if the water is hard, it must be softened. This can be done in two ways, both of which are equally simple and accessible to each of you.
Two ways to properly wash your hair
There are two ways to properly wash your hair, each of which is worthy of your attention.
Method one. Wash your hair with boiled water. As a result of boiling, all the salts will settle, and you will get softer water than regular tap water.
Method two. If you don't want to bother with boiling, add a little baking soda to tap water: the alkali contained in it will make the water soft.
How to properly shampoo your hair
The rules on how to properly wash your hair with shampoo are not difficult to remember, but everyone can follow them. How do you shampoo your hair? Do you pour it directly on your head? Again a mistake. Before washing your hair, apply the shampoo to your palm and add some water. This will allow you to reduce the concentration of the detergent and apply it evenly to your hair. By the way, you need to use a little shampoo: modern hair care formulas make shampoos clean well, even if they are taken in small quantities. Many of us prefer to act on the principle of “the more the better", and generously pour almost half a bottle of shampoo into the hair at a time, but this should not be done: excess detergent is bad for the hair, and rinse the “overloaded” hair with shampoo it won't be easy.
Now let's check how well you know how to wash your hair. How do you do it? Shampoo furiously in your hair? Urgently retrain – otherwise you will have less reason to be proud of your hair. It is necessary to rub the shampoo, in fact, not so much into the hair as into the scalp. The main object of washing is the scalp and hair roots, and the shampoo foamed as a result of this procedure will distribute itself along the entire length of the hair. Many of us lather our hair like a washcloth, believing that the harder you rub shampoo into your hair, the cleaner it will become. Not at all: aggressively influencing the hair, you only worsen their health. Master soft massage movements – they will be much more useful than vigorous rubbing: you will not only clean your hair of dirt and sebum, but also massage your scalp, which means you will ensure a completehair nutrition.
Can I reuse the shampoo when washing my hair? As a rule, yes. In the instructions for the use of detergents, there is usually such a clause: "If necessary, repeat the procedure." This means that the formula of the shampoo is mild enough to wash your hair and immediately reuse it. Many women, by the way, prefer to wash their hair twice, believing that the first wash allows you to remove dead skin scales and particles of dirt from your hair, and the second wash “works” directly on the beauty and health of your hair, making it especially lush. So, repeated shampooing is not contraindicated if the shampoo gently affects the hair. However, not all shampoos can be reused. If there is no “repeat if necessary” mark in the instructions for using the shampoo, then it is better not to abuse it by repeated washing.
