Cashmere care and washing
In winter, it gives you its gentle warmth, but when worn, it treacherously sticks to the body. Yes, and pellets, now and then from nowhere appearing on the wool, darken the mood. So how to care for cashmere in order to avoid all these, albeit very tiny, but still troubles, and keep cashmere products in their original appearance?
Washing and drying cashmere
Cashmere loves water. The more often you bathe him, the more beautiful he will become. So throw it in the washing machine as often as possible. When washing cashmere, choose a short wool program and a low spin.
And no conditioners for wool! Cashmere is quite soft without them. Dry flat on a flat surface. Then iron with a hot steam iron.
The golden rule for washing cashmere is to wash black with black. In this case, if the thing sheds, then on black. The temperature should never exceed 40Β°C, as hot water, especially lime water, will discolour things. Ideally, detergents with a bleaching effect should be avoided. You can buy a special detergent for black clothes, but it is best to wash your little black dress by hand using soap flakes that you have previously dissolved in hot water.
Scrub any traces of make-up or deodorant with Marseille soap, then soak the dress in water. Dry it in the shade, not in the sun.
Proper care of cashmere products
What to do if spools appear? Itβs quite simple: when caring for cashmere, take a disposable razor and run it over those places where there are pellets. And, lo and behold, those nasty little balls of wool disappear!
Your dress sticks to the body! To the legs, to the buttocks, to the stomach. Next time, donβt dry your synthetic dress in the washing machine. At the next wash, add 60 ml of sodium bicarbonate to the washing machine, then 60 ml of white vinegar when rinsing.
When caring for cashmere, rub your dress with something metallic, such as coat hangers, or iron it with an almost cold iron, as its sole will take all the static electricity.
And finally, the last trick: spray the dress with hairspray.
If, despite your best efforts, the dress still sticks to your body, change it and choose an outfit made of natural fabric.
