Differences between electrolysis and laser and photoepilation

Unlike depilation, in which the body of the hair is simply cut off, and the hair follicle remains intact, electro-, photo- and laser hair removal are aimed at removing the entire hair. How does laser and electrolysis work?
Laser hair removal has been used in cosmetology for a long time and is popular among women. Largely due to the speed of the procedure itself and the duration of the preservation of the effect.
The technique itself consists in the intense effect of the light beam on the melanin contained in the hairs, and the destructive discharge of the bulb. It does not have any effect on the skin. The laser discharge processes the hairs that are in the active growth phase, and in order to completely clean a certain area, several sessions are necessary. In this case, both the armpits and the bikini area or face can be processed.
But, the laser shows the greatest efficiency with the contrast of the skin and the hairs growing on it. So, black hair on dark skin or fluff on fair skin is the worst to remove. But, a diode laser can cope with this problem, but its price is much higher than the usual laser hair removal.
Electrolysis basically uses an electrical impulse aimed at point hair removal. Despite the fact that the device removes any color type of hair, the careless attitude of the master can lead to wounds, scars and redness.
How photoepilation works
In the process of photoepilation, a light beam acts on the hair, passing through special filters to protect the upper layer of the epidermis from burns. Powerful flashes of light are aimed simultaneously at destroying the body of the hair and its bulb. Recommended for removing unwanted hairs all over the body, including the face. A full course of photoepilation allows you to eliminate body hair for several months.
Unlike laser hair removal, photoepilation copes with the removal of any type of hair – gray, white, eliminating fluff.

To choose a certain type of procedure, it is worth paying attention to the fact that laser hair removal does an excellent job of removing hair, except for very light or dark hair on dark skin, that is, lacking contrast. Photoepilation is devoid of this drawback, so its cost is higher. Electrolysis is quite affordable, but has many contraindications.
