Strobing: what is it?
Today there is just a huge number of different interesting techniques in makeup. In fact, makeup can either simply emphasize the dignity of the face and hide flaws, or completely, as it were, “redraw" it. One of the delicate makeup techniques is strobing. Natural This effect is achieved with the help of several cosmetic products, and in terms of technology, everything is quite simple.
What is makeup strobing?
The strobing technique has replaced contouring. In contouring, the main focus is on the correction of facial features with the help of bronzers and dark correctors. Darkening the cheekbones, visually making the nose thinner, and the chin more expressive, you make facial features more clear and refined. Strobe is the guardian of natural makeup: its task is to correct the face with the help of the correct arrangement of light shining accents. Dark correctors and bronzers are not present at all, due to this, the overall look of the makeup becomes, as it were, lighter. Also, proponents of strobing quite often additionally use a little refreshing blush for easy correction. Strobing does not set itself the task of reshaping the face, which is quite realistic to do with the same contouring. It refreshes the skin, refreshes the face as a whole, emphasizes facial features, but at the same time, everything comes out quite naturally. Again, do not go to extremes and overdo it with a highlighter – this can also look quite untidy.
Who is makeup strobing suitable for?
It should be understood that strobing is not makeup for everyone. Strobing is an option for dry or normal skin as the focus is on radiance. Oily skin often becomes shiny during the day, and additional use of radiant products will not look too beautiful. Of course, if you want to try this option on yourself, for example, as a themed makeup or makeup for a photo shoot, then it will most likely look pretty good. But if you want to try strobing on oily skin, use matte bases and dry highlighter on your cheekbones and upper lip, avoiding the T-zone. If the effect does not seem sufficiently pronounced to you, you can be sure that the makeup will “reach” the desired state in a couple of hours.
Secrets of the right strobing: what you need to know?
In strobing, it is important to correctly place accents. Remember: highlighter makes parts of the face look fuller. Therefore, if you have a large forehead or a prominent chin, do not apply highlighter on them.
As a rule, brightening cosmetic products, as well as luminizers, are applied to the top of the cheekbones, under the eyebrows, to the inner corners of the eyes, to the "Cupid's bow" – that is, the "tick" above the upper lip. Since this makeup is the most radiant, as a rule, an illuminating primer is also applied under the foundation.
When applying, be sure to blend the highlighter well. You should not have any too clear boundaries.
What makeup is needed for strobing?
The star of strobing is the highlighter. Highlighter is a cosmetic product that is produced in the form of a powder, stick or cream with iridescent particles that reflect light. Choose the texture that is most convenient for you: but keep in mind that creamy textures require synthetic brushes that absorb a minimum of product (or you can simply apply and blend the product with your fingers), and for powdery textures, brushes made of natural pile.
For strobing, you don't need a bronzer or a sculptor – it will be replaced by a blush of a classic pink shade. Use dry blush: apply it on the apples of your cheeks – this way you will give your face freshness and add another beautiful accent to it.
It is very important to choose a highlighter with the right texture and the right shade. Choose finely dispersed highlighters with minimal shimmer. Your face should not give the impression of a Christmas tree. The textures themselves should be very light, otherwise, the makeup will simply seem overloaded. If you have a cold color type, then it is best to choose light, pearl or silver highlighters. Pinkish highlighters work well. If, on the contrary, your skin has a warm, olive undertone, then golden highlighters will be ideal for you. If you can’t decide on undertones, take a rose gold highlighter – this shade is now at the height of fashion and suits, no doubt, everyone.
